Welcome to the latest update, for events occurring at the SF Discussion Group.

On 10 April we met over at FoF to break bread with David Hartwell and later hear him talk on editing and the current state of Fantasy and SF.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, 12 June 2002. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM and ends, officially, at 9:00 PM at the FLIGHTS OF FANTASY BOOKSTORE at 488 Albany-Shaker Road in Loudonville - next to the Rite Aid Wen Spencer will be joining us to do a signing & read from her new book, TAINTED TRAIL. We will be meeting at FoF at 4:53 PM so we can dodge traffic going across the street to the restaurant for dinner at 5 PM. Y'all are welcome to join us.

On Sunday, 2 June 2000 Paul Levinson will be at FoF [518-435-9337] to do a signing & reading. It will be about 1:00 PM.

***** Date Change ALERT!!!***** The following SFDG meeting will be on - Tuesday, 9 July 2002. Rob Sawyer will be in town & can only make it on Tuesday, 9 July. Future SFDG meetings will be on: Wednesday, 14 August, Wednesday, 11 September, & 13 November 2002. There will be no meeting in October. We'll have all been to ALBACON the previous weekend. Speaking with a couple authors about coming up for a signing & reading.

ALBACON meetings will be scheduled for the first Sunday of every month and begin at 2 PM Location: Flights of Fantasy on 488 Albany-Shaker Road, Albany, 12211 NY. The next ones will be Sunday, 2 June, 14 July, & 4 August 2002. Everyone invited, tho they may end up putting you to work. J

PS: Are you something of a Tolkien fan? The Fellowship will gather on Sunday, 22 September 2002. What a fine day for a birthday party. Care to read with us? If there are enough interested persons, at least 6 persons, we could spend a couple hours Sunday afternoons, say from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM or so, reading tLotR aloud. It takes about 7 months.
