Welcome to the latest update, for events occurring at the SF Discussion Group.
On TUESDAY, 9 July 2002 we met over at FoF to first have a nosh with Rob Sawyer and later hear him read from his new book & talk about what he is working on next.
On Thursday, 11 July 2002 we met for dinner over at the Shipyard, & then John regaled us on where SF is headed.
The next SFDG meeting will be on Wednesday, 14 August. Dawn River Baker will be reading from her novel, The Rise of the Phoenix. This is her first novel. We will be meeting at FoF at 4:53 PM so we can dodge traffic going across the street to the Lainie's restaurant for dinner at 5 PM. Y'all are welcome to join us.
The September SFDG meeting will be on Wednesday, 11 September. Josepha Sherman will make the trek north to Albany for a reading & signing. We will be meeting at FoF at 4:53 PM so we can dodge traffic going across the street for dinner at 5 PM. Y'all are welcome to join us.
On Sunday, 22 September 2002 a number of us will gather to celebrate the birthday of Frodo & Bilbo Baggins. The reading of The Lord of the Rings will commence. The Long Awaited Party begins at 2:00 PM
There will be no meeting in October. We'll have ALL been to ALBACON the previous weekend. However, in November we'll be back.
The November SFDG meeting will be on Wednesday, 6 November. Allen Steele will be here to do a signing and reading. His new book, Coyote will be out only days earlier. As Allen can't make it up here for dinner, there will be cookies & milk at the 7:00 PM signing. Please note, this is the FIRST Wednesday of the month.
On Saturday, 23 November 2002 join us to welcome Jennifer Dunne for a nosh & a signing. SEX MAGIC is out in June & SHADOW PRINCE is out in paperback in October. We'll most likely be doing lunch or dinner as well. Details in the October SFDG Newsletter.
There will be no meeting in December, however, we shall return in January, 2003! However, I will be at the first showing of TTT. J

PS: Are you something of a Tolkien fan? The Fellowship will gather on Sunday, 22 September 2002. What a fine day for a birthday party. Care to read with us? If there are enough interested persons, we need at least 6 persons, we could spend a couple hours on Sunday afternoons, say from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM or so, reading tLotR aloud.
